About Us

Mare Fair is a convention for adult fans of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic dedicated to celebrating our love of ponies and all the amazing people that continue to make the ride what it is - that means you!

We strive to deliver a pony convention that is memorable and unique. We don't have VIP guests, guests of honor, or community guests; instead, we foster an environment where you and your friends can get together for a fun weekend focused on ponies.

Mare Fair was started in 2023 and is operated by Snowpity, Inc., an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) public nonprofit corporation. Our organization is careful to fulfill all requirements and obligations for responsible governance and management, and we provide publicly available reports of each yearly event and its charitable efforts, hosting them freely on the Snowpity website.

• Mare Fair has raised over $300k for a variety of horse rescues since our first convention in 2023
• Our team of talented volunteers do it for free; nopony (even up to the Head Pony In Charge) receives any monetary compensation for their time

As a young organization (with none of us being formal event planners in our professional lives), we've had to learn along the way. In addition to the challenges that come with organizing a large, top-tier convention, we realize this lack of experience has led recently to some unfortunate oversights and lessons with the first couple of Mare Fair events, requiring us to evolve and plan for unexpected issues of many sorts.

We've recently updated our official Code of Conduct for all attendees, incorporated active monitoring of convention spaces, streamlined registration, and implemented policies to ensure Mare Fair remains free of drama.

We also welcome and incorporate community feedback wherever possible as our goal is to create an enjoyable and fun event for all - respecting each and every attendee, artist, vendor, and the event spaces.

Mare Fair is a celebration of the My Little Pony fandom. It's an annual event uniting friends, artists, and longtime fans of this beloved franchise, and a chance to raise funds for the cause of equine welfare. It's a place to meet and appreciate the amazing people in our community who make it such a special place. And that is all we seek to be.

We are not a politically affiliated organization or event in any manner, nor are we a place for any offensive or disruptive activities - we are simply a My Little Pony fandom convention.

We do not condone any form of hate or extremist beliefs of any kind - our event is centured purely on the common love and appreciation of the pony community, and we're working hard to ensure it is a welcoming and respectful space for all attendees.

We do not condone any form of abusive or hurtful activities of any kind. We consider the respect and safety of all attendees our top priority and gladly work hand-in-hand with our many vendors, event spaces, and other partners to ensure our convention remains a trusted, welcoming, and fun event.

Why has Mare Fair had to seek a new venue after every event?

• After signing for a second year with our first venue (Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive), we received the devastating news that the venue was being shut down to make way for a new hotel project and our contract was cancelled. We were lucky to find a new venue at the Marriott Orlando Airport Lakeside
• After our second year at the Marriott Orlando Airport Lakeside, we were welcomed back by that venue, but we felt our convention was growing and could no longer fit within the meeting space available to us there
• Due to the private actions of a few isolated individual attendees that attended our third year at the Rosen Centre Hotel (actions in no way condoned or affiliated with Mare Fair), we were unable to continue our relationship with that venue
  • We've learned a lot of lessons to greatly improve our management of attendees
  • As a result of this, we have recently updated our official Code of Conduct for all attendees, incorporated active monitoring of convention spaces, streamlined registration, and implemented policies to ensure Mare Fair remains free of drama
  • We are committed to continuing this growth and evolution, and are happy to work hand-in-hand with all partners as we look ahead to our fourth year in 2026

Is Mare Fair a sexual themed convention? Why is it adults only?

• No: Mare Fair is not a "sex convention" nor is that the purpose of our annual events. Like typical fandom conventions, our programming includes a wide mix of art and music showcases, panels, cosplay, and community activities that appeal to all audiences
• As an adults-only event, we do feature individual programs that include mature themes (including erotic artwork and fanfiction) for those who are interested. However, these are clearly indicated in our schedule, and our event policies prohibit any display of adult-themed materials or clothing in any public spaces and/or outside of their designated areas
• Formalizing Mare Fair as an adults-only convention was simply a practical decision in recognition of the general age range of attendees and members of the My Little Pony fandom community at large - it helps keep organization and oversight of mixed-events and interests simple and safe

Is Mare Fair affiliated with Nazis or other extremist groups?

• No: Mare Fair does not condone any form of hate or extremist beliefs of any kind. Our convention is centered purely on the common love and appreciation of the My Little Pony community, and we've worked hard to ensure it is a welcoming and respectful space for all attendees.
• Mare Fair is not a political organization or place for disruptive or non-pony activities. As we have made clear in our official Code of Conduct for all attendees:
  • Any political symbols or slogans are strongly discouraged; attendees may be asked to cover or remove items from convention spaces
  • Actions which pose a hazard to oneself, others, or the orderly operation of the convention are not allowed
  • Attendees must respect and follow all rules and policies of the hotel, at all times - including prohibition of disruptive materials, conduct, or items in public spaces or outside of event areas

Did Mare Fair previously allow Nazi imagery at past events? Why did Mare Fair allow Nazi imagery (Aryanne) at past events?

• Mare Fair does not - and never will - support any form of hate or extreme beliefs of any kind, nor do we tolerate the presence of harmful or disruptive conduct at our events. We're a fandom convention centered purely on the appreciation and love of My Little Pony and our shared community
• This question refers to an unofficial My Little Pony original character (Aryanne) that emerged as a fringe political/cultural meme affiliated with isolated online circles over the past decade. As we simply never imaged this character in any context related to our convention, internal policies during our first few events were not as clearly developed as they are now, causing a handful of folks to critique and/or misrepresent our enforcement standards
• This character and any imagery affiliated (or assumed) with hateful or extreme political beliefs are prohibited at Mare Fair. As we have further made clear in our formal Code of Conduct for all attendees: Political symbols or slogans or any kind are strongly discouraged, and any action or behavior causing significant interference in event operations or adversely affecting guests, venues, or the public is strictly forbidden

Is Mare Fair associated with "crypto-scams" or disreputable fundraising?

• No: Mare Fair is neither affiliated with nor participates in any disreputable fundraising practices whatsoever. The event is organized and managed by volunteer staff and operates under the structure of a registered nonprofit corporation (Snowpity, Inc.) which ensures transparency in management and responsible use of financial contributions
• Snowpity actively provides annual reports of each yearly event and our organization's charitable efforts hosted freely on our website. As a registered nonprofit, we are careful to fulfill any related requirements and obligations to ensure responsible governance and management of our operations

Are Mare Fair organizers affiliated with bestiality or animal abuse?

• No: Mare Fair is neither affiliated with nor condones any such behavior whatsoever. These are hurtful accusations that originate from an online blog post and social media comments from community critics that emerged late 2025; however, they rely on false representations and unverified claims that simply do not speak for our event, our members, or our wider community

• Why is Mare Fair's Head Pony In Charge accused of bestiality videos?

  • This is an accusation stemming from an online blog post that was published late 2025 (upon the request of anonymous critics) inaccurately portraying our Head Pony In Charge by criticizing his management of a video hosting website he oversees as a casual community project many years ago
  • The blog post cited a couple isolated oversights in monitoring the content of thousands of individual user-uploaded videos across the site over a span of six years - a matter that the Head Pony In Charge has since clarified and addressed

• Why is a Mare Fair organizer accused of animal abuse?

  • The person accused by the aforementioned blog post was never "an organizer" of Mare Fair; they never held any position in the upper leadership of either Mare Fair or Snowpity
  • After learning of concerning allegations of this previous volunteer, our organization treated the matter seriously and took every action available to us in an attempt to reasonably verify every aspect possible. This included engaging with a third-party investigative firm and ordering a criminal background check, which produced no relevant information. We also reached out to individuals who claimed to have direct knowledge; however, they refused to share or communicate further
  • Ultimately, none of these efforts found anything substantiating the allegations against this previous volunteer, but his involvement with our event concluded before Mare Fair 2025

Why are there so many critics and allegations against Mare Fair?

• Mare Fair has been inspired and shaped by a common appreciation of dedicated fans across a wide range of eclectic spaces and online communities. It's made our event a truly special place that appeals to a wide mix of audiences. But this has also caused some limited instances of friction between different voices. While we know Mare Fair is not for everypony, we know who we are and have worked hard to grow our event and best ensure all feel welcomed and respected
